Ökomarkt Hamburg e.V.


Ökomarkt e.V. (Eco-Market) was founded in November 1986 by dedicated consumers and organic farmers. The organization is primarily concerned with promoting organic farming and is represented by 5 projects in the Haus der Zukunft.

“Schule und Landwirtschaft“ (“School and agriculture”) gives schools and day-care groups the chance to experience the path of organic food along the complete supply chain - with visits to organic farms, as well as processing and market locations.

„Bio für Kinder - Gutes Essen in Kita & Schule“ (“Organic for Kids - Good Food in Day-Care Centres and Schools”) supports day-care centres and schools by demonstrating ways of introducing tailored nutrition plans that are organically wholesome.

At “Bio furs Baby” (“Organic for the Baby”), pregnant women and parents can find information about issues relating to nutrition for pregnant women, nursing mothers, infants and toddlers.

“FokuS Bio” (“Focus on Organic”) provides advice and training to owners and employees of health food stores and farm shops in Hamburg.

The “Event Team” gets consumers and distributors interested in organic farming and its products by designing, planning and holding or participating in functions, such as events, trade fairs and other marketing activities.
